Jaakko Hintikka

I've met Jaakko Hintikka at a philosophical congress in Florence some time ago and exchanged with him some thoughts. At the time he worked on the Wittgenstein's literary group English background. I've read his stuff on knowledge, possible worlds, what if inferences. I remember Lacan praising him in respect to necessity and contingency account. In Munich I met Pertti Lindfors who was a colleague of Hintikka's in fifties. My Finish friends Siitonen, Seppo Sajama and many others owe him, not least in pursuing their careers in an independent manner. I just learned about Jaakko's passage.
